**A quick look at the role.**
To be part of a team that delivers the contractual services of the South Lanarkshire HWRC contract to a consistent standard.
To supervise and provide leadership with the daily operational activity of the HWRC RORO drivers, vehicles and containers in an effective and efficient manner and at all times in compliance with the Company’s Policies and Procedures and industry related Legislation.

Biffa’s household waste division delivers a range of cost-efficient, quality-led waste management services for 31 local authorities across the UK. With over 3,300 staff and around 1,562 specialist vehicles, our domestic waste management division makes 4.3 million collections each week from over 2.3 million households across Britain.

- To provide support to the Business Manager and HWRC Supervisor for the productivity of the HWRC contract operations.
- To assist with the planning and allocation of resources to reflect budget.
- Supervise and maximise productivity of operations ensuring that allocated activities are completed within the required timescales and to the contract “Specification”.
- To support the Business Manager with implementing vehicle and driver efficiencies as required by the Company. To support with the planning and implementation of vehicle routes and availability.
- To assist the Business Manager in collating budget and headcount data.
- To ensure that employees are wearing the appropriate PPE at all times.
- To use monitoring processes such as vehicle CCTV and tracking or out on physical presence (monitoring) to ensure employees adhere to safe working practices at all times whilst carrying out their work activity, either on the public highway or when operating on Company or 3rd party sites.
- To ensure drivers carry out vehicle pre-use checks.
- To support the Company with maintaining compliance of the Company’s Goods Vehicle Operators Licence.
- To initiate, support and promote methods to improve good work practices.
**Requirements**:

- The ability to work within a time-critical environment.
- Experience of people and health and safety management within a unionised and multi-shift environment.
- Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPI’s.
- Experience of vehicle management - CPC, tachos, Road Transport Directive.
- Proven track record of delivering continuous improvement within an operational / service environment.
- Proven track record within a transport operations environment industry.
