Director of Fundraising and Partnerships

Civitas Recruitment Ltd is delighted to be working with a fast-growing international development charity that implements waste management and recycling programmes in lower- and middle-income countries. The charity aims to reduce climate emissions and create livelihood opportunities for vulnerable communities.

We are seeking a Director of Fundraising and Partnerships to join our team. The successful candidate will be part of the senior management team and will lead the charity's effort in building impactful relationships and driving strategic initiatives. The role will involve working closely with the Director of Programmes and CEO to develop and implement a comprehensive partnerships strategy to secure in excess of £500,000 annually in fundraising goals through various partners, including corporates and foundations.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience at a senior level in fundraising and securing key partnerships, ideally working with corporate businesses and foundations. They will be a natural relationship builder and able to utilise an extensive network of relevant contacts. Knowledge of culturally relevant trends and developments that result in public engagement and income is essential for the role. The role will manage a small team, and the successful candidate will provide leadership and support to the team.

We are seeking a hands-on and flexible individual who can work autonomously and be self-driven. As this is a small and fast-growing charity, the role will be broad in nature and fast-changing. The successful candidate will be accustomed to and comfortable in this scenario. There will be some travel nationally and internationally when needed. Experience working in the charitable sector or knowledge of fundraising in the international development/environment sector would be a bonus, but it is not essential for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive partnerships strategy to secure in excess of £500,000 annually in fundraising goals
  • Build impactful relationships with key stakeholders, including corporates and foundations
  • Manage a small team and provide leadership and support
  • Work closely with the Director of Programmes and CEO to drive strategic initiatives
  • Travel nationally and internationally when needed

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience at a senior level in fundraising and securing key partnerships
