Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced financial accountant to join our dynamic team as a Group Financial Accountant for a 9-month parental cover position. This hybrid role is based from our office, allowing the flexibility to work from home 3 days a week.

About the Role

As a Group Financial Accountant, you will be at the heart of our operations for a £700m+ turnover private equity-backed global business. You will be involved in a variety of projects, from systems improvements and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to month-end and year-end support, including reporting, audit support, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Play a hands-on role in closing monthly results, financial year-end, preparing statutory financial documents (IFRS), and participating in various accounting projects such as operational improvement and simplification.
  • Work closely with our outsourced finance provider on month-end transactional activities.
  • Help build and maintain uniform and consistently documented and applied financial policies and processes.
  • Assist in implementing and developing supporting platforms (e.g. Business Objects, Tableau, Blackline).

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant with technical skills and a thorough understanding of consolidation.
  • Degree-level qualification.
  • IFRS experience.
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), fixed asset accounting, etc.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a positive communication style.
  • Proven ability to work optimally in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues at all levels.
  • Experience with IFS is an advantage.
