Emergency Planning Officer

This role takes part in an out-of-hours emergency response rota, which attracts an additional allowance.
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Planning Officer to join our team in the Emergency Planning department. As an Emergency Planning Officer, you will play a key role in preparing for and responding to emergencies in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and London Borough of Wandsworth.
Your day-to-day work will involve:
- Collaborating with external organisations such as the emergency services and voluntary sector, as well as other emergency planners from across London
- Helping to develop new capabilities that increase our preparedness
- Confidence working in a project delivery environment with rapidly changing priorities
- An understanding of the aims and objectives of emergency planning and business continuity
- Familiarity with the Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles (JESIP) and Civil Contingencies Act (2004)
- Experience of using the Microsoft Office packages including, but not limited to, Word, Excel and Power Point
