Senior Care Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team at South Moor Lodge Care Home. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.
About the Role:- Provide exceptional care to residents, supporting them with daily living activities and promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a caring and nurturing attitude, and promoting a positive and enthusiastic outlook among team members.
- Assist with medication rounds, document accurately, and ensure high standards are maintained during shift handovers.
- Conduct one-to-one sessions with care and support team members, promoting good practice and challenging poor practice when necessary.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ minimum level 3).
- Minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant in a residential or nursing home setting.
- Awareness of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning.
- Knowledge of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of signs of abuse, and procedures to follow in the event of an allegation of abuse.
- Live within 30 minutes of the Home.
- Two years' experience in a similar role in a nursing home.
- At least One year's experience working in a similar role in a residential or nursing home; or
- At least Two years' experience in a Senior Care role in a residential or nursing home
- One year experience of caring for residents living with dementia
- NVQ Level 4 in Adult Health and Social Care or above
- Knowledge of National Care Standards Act 2000
- Conducting effective person-centred One to Ones
- Experience of managing a team
