About the Role

We are seeking a talented and ambitious Structural Engineer to join our team as an apprentice. As a key member of our Building Structures team, you will be responsible for developing conceptual solutions to problems through to detailed design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement design solutions for a wide range of projects
  • Assist in the execution of projects within defined design and cost parameters
  • Conduct research and data collection to inform design decisions
  • Present results to clients and stakeholders under the supervision of a lead designer
  • Ensure compliance with Quality and Technical Assurance Procedures and work in accordance with BIM standards
  • Represent the company at site visits and design team meetings
  • Assist in the development and mentorship of apprentices and less experienced staff

Requirements:

  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Graduate Member of a relevant professional body (e.g. IStructE or ICE)
  • Working towards or achieved Chartered Membership (IStructE or ICE)
  • Proven experience in the design of structures using conventional engineering materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry) to Eurocodes
  • Experience with structural analysis design software (Robot Structural Analysis and Revit experience is desirable)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to support client relationships
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel and work within other offices for periods of time
  • Experience with parametric modelling software and software coding (Dynamo, Python, C++ etc) is desirable
