Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sample Reception Technician / Subcontract Technician to join our team at SGS. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the subcontracting journey from initial query to testing completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sample Registration and Subcontracting
    • Accurately follow standard operating procedures for registering, subcontracting, and transferring samples between sites.
  • Technical Support
    • Provide technical support to outsource pricing and testing requirements with subcontracting laboratories.
  • Order Management
    • Prepare purchase orders via Oracle and update the PO tracker.
  • Collaboration with Sales and Procurement
    • Liaise with Sales to ensure they are aware of updated/new pricing for subcontractors.
    • Liaise with Procurement to ensure that once price increases are implemented, Oracle is updated to reflect these changes on the product catalogues.

Requirements

  • Education
    • GCSE grade A to C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Skills and Experience
    • Full driving licence.
    • Numerate with good written English – both essential.
    • Customer Service orientated and committed to providing an outstanding level of service to all.
    • Have good IT skills, including competent use of Microsoft Office Applications.
    • Experience in operations/productions or a closely related role.

Working Arrangements

  • Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 9 am- 5 pm.
