We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Department Manager to join our B&M Retail team in the Basingstoke Area.

B&M Retail is one of the UK's fastest growing retailers, and with our ongoing expansion plans, we are looking for talented individuals to help us achieve our goals. As a Department Manager, you will play a key role in driving store targets and standards, while ensuring that our customers receive an exceptional shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and be a great team player and role model throughout the store.
  • Assist the Store Management Team in driving store targets and standards.
  • Support the development of all colleagues, ensuring that they understand how career progression is possible through our 'Step Up' programme.
  • Ensure Health and Safety policies are adhered to in order to provide a safe environment for our colleagues and customers.
  • Operate and deliver processes that ensure the store meets all legal requirements.
  • Be responsible for reporting and cash office duties where applicable.

Requirements:

  • Experience of managing a team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
  • A flexible approach, 'can do' positive attitude, and the ability to inspire and motivate.
  • Proven success in delivering KPIs, such as wage costs and shrinkage.
  • Strong commercial awareness within retail.
  • Great problem-solving skills and decision-making credentials.
  • Excellent communication, administration, and organisational skills.
