The Local Advisory Board (LAB) plays a crucial role in supporting the Leadership Team at Heathside School, in its mission to provide an exceptional education to over 1,250 students. The school is well-regarded in the community, offering a broad and enriching curriculum. We are keen to bring more Advisors from the community with a diverse range of skills.

The LAB is essential in helping the School to drive improvement. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting on behalf of the Trustees to ensure that standards are being raised, and that outcomes and progress of students continue to improve.
  • Working in conjunction with Trustees to ensure that all funds are spent to maximize impact for students.
  • Participating in annual conferences and ad hoc activities such as involvement in key staff recruitment or appraisal/exclusion panels.
  • Supporting the school leadership on specific strategic projects.

**Support and Training**

As a member of the LAB, you will have access to comprehensive training and development opportunities, including online sessions covering all aspects of governance. Many individuals involved with school governance report that they grow from the experience, both personally and professionally.
