Job Summary:

The Compliance and Project Officer will provide expert advice and guidance on Health, Safety, and Wellbeing matters to the organisation. This role will involve acting as an internal consultant, building strong relationships with various departments, and ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the operations of the relevant Business Unit, achieving objectives of the Corporate and Operational Plans.
  • Support clients in maintaining accountability and performance management frameworks, risk management frameworks, quality management frameworks, and communications management frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with these frameworks, supporting the achievement of clients' Corporate and Operational objectives.
  • Assist line management, Business Unit Manager, Director, and Top Management Team in supporting functions and responsibilities of clients and committees.
  • Ensure clients secure value for money from available resources.
  • Support an effective and transparent system of decision-making, including a robust challenge function at all levels.
  • Contribute to the transformation agenda in the Resource function, delivering a partnership approach with Business Managers, and contributing to key targets in the People and Estates Strategy.
  • Drive consistency of approach across clients in relation to Health and Safety, promoting a positive health and safety culture, identifying trends, reporting, and liaising with colleagues on interventions to minimise risk.
  • Contribute to the development of new and revised policies, ensuring compliance with best practice and current legislation, including ISO 45001.
  • Be the Resources team lead on ISO and MRM matters, coordinating responses, developing action plans, and preparing reports for audits and Committees.
  • Support the Facilities Manager in the development and delivery of Infrastructure Management.
  • Manage and develop all staff reporting to the post-holder, ensuring efficient delivery.
Requirements:
  • Hold or working towards CIPD Level 5 AND/OR Hold or working towards NEBOSH qualification.
  • Two years' experience of working in a generalist HR environment.
  • Experience of participating and driving Organisational Compliance, ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Experience of providing professional support and guidance to others to prevent or resolve issues.
  • Experience of auditing procedures and/or policies, including reports and action plans.
  • Experience of contributing to improving practices and/or procedures, supporting the delivery of a modernisation project or improving business processes.
  • Exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong effective working relationships.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Access to a form of transport to fulfil the duties of the post.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Relevant professional qualification in Health & Safety.
  • Project Management qualification, e.g. PRINCE.
