Cedar have been retained by the Founder of a highly profitable specialist in the Engineering and Construction space to hire their first Chief Financial Officer.

As a growth-oriented company, they have a plan to quadruple revenue over the next 5 years - with sustainability at their core as a certified carbon-neutral business.

As the number 1 in Finance reporting into the Managing Director and the Founder, this all-encompassing, hands-on Chief Financial Officer position, will bring Finance in-house and be a member of the senior leadership team.

You will lead and develop the Finance function, building robust management accounts and a strong controls environment, while managing a small team and managing the outsourced Financial Reporting and Payroll providers.

You will business partner the MD & Founder daily, leading on the delivery of company budgets & financial strategy, including observing and presenting in Board meetings.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Founder and the senior leadership team to drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth
  • Lead and manage the Finance function, including financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Managing Director and the Founder
  • Manage a small team and provide guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of financial objectives
  • Develop and implement robust management accounts and a strong controls environment

Requirements:

  • Strong accounting background, able to get into the numbers and dissect the balance sheet, P&L and cash flow statements
  • Strong Financial Management and Management Accounting experience, able to establish best practice from controls through to board reporting
  • Gravitas to influence up to c-suite/board level and the confidence to make key strategic decisions
