Operational Finance Lead - Fully Qualified Permanent/Contract
Location: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)
The Operational Finance Lead serves as one of two financial partners to budget owners, focusing on their overhead and operational expenditures. This role requires a strong capability to communicate and clarify financial concepts to colleagues across various levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the budgeting, accounting, and effective management of overheads and operational costs, as well as non-operational capital expenditures.
- Engage with the Senior Leadership Team and their direct reports to align on activities and expenditures.
- Conduct headcount reporting and analysis.
- Ensure timely and precise month-end closing and reporting for overheads and IT capital expenditures in accordance with established timelines.
- Provide insightful and accurate reporting and review of all overheads and non-operational capital expenditures with budget holders to maintain effective spending control.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations for any balance sheet codes associated with this role.
- Review and approve payroll, coordinating with the outsourced payroll processing provider.
- Assist the HR Team with calculations for Short Term and Long Term Incentive Plans, presenting results to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Collaborate with external professional services firms to supply necessary information for the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement submission.
- Manage and calculate provisions for significant legal disputes.
- Provide additional support for employee tax compliance, including liaising with external professional services suppliers.
- Ensure optimal configuration of finance systems regarding workflow and coding of overheads and non-operational capital expenditures.
Qualifications:
- Fully Qualified (ACCA|ACA|CIMA)
- 2-4 years of Post Qualification Experience (PQE)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Experience in business partnering at a senior level
- Strong knowledge and experience in financial and management accounting
- Proficient in budgeting and forecasting processes
- Understanding of operational finance processes and controls
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in property and/or telecommunications industries
- Familiarity with Agresso ERP application software
- Relevant degree (e.g., business, finance, economics)
