Role Overview:
The Regional Sales Executive – Construction Chemicals & Sealants will be responsible for:

  • Promoting a premium range of construction chemicals, including sealants, adhesives, and landscaping jointing products
  • Focusing on the construction industry and home improvement/DIY market
Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing approximately 300 accounts, with 80% being independent merchants and 20% from buying groups
  • Engaging with merchant customers such as fixings companies, builders merchants, plumbing suppliers, timber merchants, hardware retailers, DIY outlets, decorative merchants, and small independent wholesalers
  • Developing new business opportunities, constituting 20% of the role
  • Inheriting a territory generating around £4.4 million, with a goal of achieving a 10% growth
  • Conducting approximately 4-5 customer visits daily
  • Collaborating with internal teams and maintaining the CRM system
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will possess:
  • Previous field sales experience, ideally within independent retail sectors such as DIY stores, builders merchants, plumbing suppliers, distributors, or wholesalers
  • A proactive attitude and a desire to advance their career
  • A driven and enthusiastic personality
  • The ability to work independently
  • Familiarity with the construction and home improvement sectors is advantageous but not mandatory
  • No prior knowledge of construction chemicals is required, as comprehensive product training will be provided
  • A proven track record in account management and new business development is preferred
  • A consultative sales approach with strong relationship-building skills
