Position Overview

Full-time Role: 37.5 Hours per Week

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Cost Estimator to become part of our dynamic team at Lovell, specifically within the East Anglia region.

In this role, you will report directly to the Chief Estimator and collaborate with a dedicated group of Preconstruction professionals. Your primary responsibility will be to provide commercial support to the estimating team across the region while fostering strong relationships with various stakeholders, including PQS, Design Teams, Supply Chain, and internal project teams.

We seek an individual who is equally passionate about the projects undertaken and thrives in a collaborative and engaging team environment. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation with precision.
  • Ensuring that all outputs are accurate, of high quality, and align with project requirements.
  • Conducting land appraisal analyses and cash flow assessments to explore optimal value options.
  • Working effectively within a team or independently on bids.
  • Presenting net cost estimates during bid evaluations, identifying risks and opportunities for the organization.
  • Staying informed about evolving market conditions and maintaining updated cost data.
  • Mentoring junior staff members and providing assistance as needed.
  • Verifying that recommended subcontractor bids comply with Lovell's site standards.
  • Conducting site visits for new opportunities and ongoing developments.
  • Maintaining a client-focused approach by understanding key project needs and fulfilling their objectives.
  • Adhering to Lovell's procedures and promoting our organizational standards consistently.

Ideal candidates will possess prior experience in a similar capacity, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Familiarity with estimating software such as ASTA, Evaluate, and COINS is advantageous but not mandatory.

A valid driving license is a requirement for this position.
