About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing, Logistics and Inventory Controller to join our team at Gi Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the procurement, inventory, and logistics functions to ensure seamless delivery of our services.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing:

  • Negotiate and agree contracts and purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company requirements.
  • Perform annual contract reviews, including pricing negotiations and amendments as necessary.
  • Source new vendors and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers.
  • Enter purchase orders on Sage 200 and perform daily administration tasks.
  • Maintain regular communications with suppliers to monitor pricing and lead times.

Inventory Control:

  • Maintain accurate inventory control and perform inventory checks in the warehouse and on the vessel.
  • Develop and maintain chemical and proppant forecasts to satisfy client work commitments.
  • Manage the company's waste disposal.

Logistics:

  • Manage and organize the company's transport demands, including shipping companies and freight forwarders.
  • Issue commercial invoices and manifests for local shipments and import/export.
  • Ensure shipments are packed in accordance with regulations and client requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Organized and dedicated to the HSEQ ethos.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel in the UK and overseas as required.
  • Proven success in purchasing and supply, inventory control, and logistics.
  • Knowledge of Sage 200 Procurement and Inventory Systems.
  • Understanding of the oil and gas industry and marine hydraulic fracturing.
