Manpower UK is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Porter Team Leader to join our team in Oxford City Centre.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small team of Kitchen Porters in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and catering areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Kitchen Porters to ensure the kitchen and catering areas are clean and organized.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and daily tasks to ensure the kitchen is maintained to a high standard.
- Operate the dishwasher and ensure all kitchen equipment and crockery are cleaned and maintained.
- Ensure all food hygiene, health and safety, and company policies are adhered to.
- Provide training and induction to new staff members.
- Motivate and assess team performance to ensure high standards are met.
- Assist with the ordering and storage of PPE and COSHH products.
- Report any maintenance or pest issues to the Head Chef or Front of House Manager.
- Ensure all waste and recyclable materials are handled correctly and stored properly.
- Ensure the bin area is kept tidy at all times.
- Assist with the collection and delivery of laundry.
- Work in all areas of the kitchen as required, including helping with food preparation and plating.
- Check suppliers' deliveries and invoices with the Head Chef or Senior Chefs.
- Work in a clean and organized manner, ensuring the kitchen is left clean and tidy at the end of each shift.
Requirements:
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- Good time management and organization skills.
- Experience in a similar position in a professional kitchen.
- Reasonable knowledge of supervisory and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Flexible and reliable approach to work.
- Ability to remain calm in pressurized situations.
- Positive, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff as a team player.
