Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Editor to join our team at Taylor & Francis Group. As a Production Editor, you will play a critical role in overseeing the production of new titles from receipt of the author's un-copyedited typescript through to delivery of the final product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming queries from authors and editors, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Maintain up-to-date information on our database, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Conduct quality control of final content, ensuring it meets our quality requirements.
  • Control schedules, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
  • Assess and code invoices for prompt supplier payment.
  • Liaise with authors as needed, providing necessary support and guidance.
  • Complete multiple tasks to deadlines within a process-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Be accustomed to prioritizing and working to deadlines, with excellent organizational skills.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify errors.
  • Understand the importance of maintaining information relied on by others, ideally through experience of using a database.
  • Be able to manage expectations, ensuring delivery to everyone's satisfaction.
  • Have the ability to problem-solve and think critically.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Have the ability to build rapport with people and offer exceptional customer service.
  • Adapt well to change and not be daunted by changing priorities.
  • Have basic skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
