Job Description

Role Overview

The EdEx Education Recruitment team is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant - Unqualified to join our client's Primary School in the Borough of Waltham Forest. As a key member of the school's support staff, you will play a vital role in providing assistance to teachers and students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery, adapting materials to meet the needs of students with SEMH requirements.
  • Provide individualized support to students, helping them to develop social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to support students with SEMH needs.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and supportive school culture.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of SEMH needs and how to support students with these requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
