About the Role:
Omega is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Manager to lead our engineering team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of projects, from initial conceptual designs to final delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement design strategies to meet customer specifications and requirements
- Lead a team of engineers to design and develop special purpose machinery, test rigs, and automation systems
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery and effective project management
- Ensure compliance with safety, performance, cost, and manufacturability standards
- Identify and mitigate technical risks at the quotation stage
- Develop and maintain technical expertise in mechanics, electrical systems, power systems, fluid power, control and measurement, and software
Requirements:
- Chartered engineer or master's degree in a relevant field
- Proven experience in design management and leadership
- Excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Experience with SolidWorks and Microsoft Office
