Job Title: Design Lead

Job Summary:

Omega is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Lead to join our engineering team. As a Design Lead, you will be responsible for managing the design process from initial conceptual designs to final product delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design process, ensuring that all designs meet the required specifications and standards.
  • Work closely with the project manager to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer specifications and translate them into detailed designs and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure that all designs are technically sound and meet the required standards.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks at the quotation stage.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of mechanics, electrical systems, power systems, fluid power, control and measurement, and software relating to special purpose machines and test rigs.

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of mechanics and design, electrical systems, power systems, fluid power, control and measurement, and software relating to special purpose machines and test rigs.
  • Great attention to technical detail and ability to recognize technical risks at the quotation stage.
  • Ability to solve technical problems with the design team.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and Microsoft Apps (Excel, Word, and Project).
  • Management qualifications and Chartered Engineer/Master's degree.
