Job Title: Design Lead

Job Summary:

Omega is seeking a highly skilled Design Lead to manage our engineering team and oversee the entire lifecycle of our projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for translating customer specifications into conceptual designs and schemes, and working closely with our project manager to ensure timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the engineering team and oversee the entire lifecycle of projects
  • Translate customer specifications into conceptual designs and schemes
  • Work closely with the project manager to ensure timely delivery
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of mechanics, electrical systems, power systems, fluid power, control and measurement, and software relating to special purpose machines and test rigs
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks at the quotation stage
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop and implement solutions

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of mechanics, electrical systems, power systems, fluid power, control and measurement, and software relating to special purpose machines and test rigs
  • Excellent technical detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work closely with the project manager to ensure timely delivery
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Management qualifications and/or Chartered Engineer/Master's degree
