Engineering Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our multi-disciplinary engineering team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of driving Engineering and Operational Excellence, with expertise in Mechanical and Electrical engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of engineers, technicians, and planners to ensure effective maintenance and installation of equipment.
  • Promote a safe operating culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE legislation and company requirements.
  • Manage costs and resources to optimize maintenance efficiency, including waste control, labor, and spare parts.
  • Oversee the CMMS system to ensure effective planning and execution of maintenance activities.
  • Audit and ensure compliance of engineering data systems.
  • Implement innovative solutions to improve equipment reliability and energy efficiency.
  • Spearhead Capex projects with a budget of around £800k and contribute to the strategic direction of the site.
  • Ensure the successful recruitment, training, and development of the engineering team.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks across the Department.
  • Manage external contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Ideal candidate will have a degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in Mechanical and Electrical engineering disciplines.
  • Strong track record of team leadership and development, with a demonstrable track record of leading a multi-disciplinary team of engineers.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex jobs simultaneously to meet ongoing changes in operational priorities.
  • Excellent knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset, ideally with experience of driving CI and Operational Excellence projects.
  • Previous experience of managing Maintenance and CAPEX budgets, with the ability to drive cost-savings while maintaining the highest level of operational efficiency.
