We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEND Officer to join our team at Opus People Solutions Ltd, working in partnership with Telford and Wrekin Council.
Key Responsibilities:- Interpret and apply the principles and statutory processes outlined in the SEN Code of Practice to ensure compliance and effective service delivery.
- Manage statutory timescales and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines and achieve objectives.
- Liaise with parents, SEND Casework Officers, health and social care professionals, Educational Psychologists, specialist teachers, head teachers, and staff from schools and colleges to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Draft high-quality, accessible, and easy-to-understand Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans that meet legal requirements and external scrutiny standards.
- Attend annual reviews for young people aged 16+ and amend EHC Plans accordingly.
- Interpret complex information from professional assessments to identify individual children's needs and develop effective EHC Plans.
- Contribute to the development of best practices and procedures in education, health, and care plan writing.
- Prepare evidence to support mediation and tribunals as required.
