About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Leader to join our team at The Cambian Group. As a Head of Service and Registered Manager, you will play a critical role in the transformation of our Specialist Mental Health Service, a children's residential home with educational provision for up to 12 children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team, including clinical staff, teachers, and support workers, to deliver high-quality care and education to children with complex mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the service and achieve the aims and objectives outlined in the Statement of Purpose.
  • Work closely with the regional manager to develop the service and support the wider needs of the site.
  • Manage a 12-bedded home that caters for children aged 8-18, all of whom require additional support due to mental illness or concerns about their safety.
  • Ensure that each young person has a plan that reflects their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs, and that this plan is regularly reviewed.
  • Establish and monitor high-quality standards of care, including ensuring adequate staffing levels and effective budget management.
  • Designated safeguarding lead in the home, with a good understanding of child protection and safeguarding protocols.
  • Take responsibility for progressing any complaints or child protection concerns.
  • Work in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
Requirements
  • 2 years recent experience working with children, with at least 1 year at a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience within children's mental health and practices.
  • Full enhanced children's and adults DBS required.
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior and support a team to understand the function of self-injurious behaviors.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting care colleagues, clinicians, and school staff to meet the needs of the children and young people.
  • Ability to manage a team of over 70 staff, with the support of own management team in the home.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads according to the needs of the service, utilizing key staff to support this.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Ability to undertake necessary training.
