As a Control Systems Specialist at Uniper, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the dependable operation, enhancement, and optimal availability of a premier power generation facility. Your expertise will be instrumental in the effective management of the ABB Distributed Control System (DCS) installed at our sites.

Your Responsibilities

  • Oversee the proactive maintenance and support of the DCS infrastructure on-site.
  • Implement and manage Safety Integrity Level (SIL) and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Guide and mentor technicians and personnel involved in DCS Engineering.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and commitment to meet the dynamic needs of the business, including on-call support.
  • Engineer and implement enhancements to the DCS system, including modifications to code and process parameters.
  • Coordinate re-commissioning efforts and facilitate the return to service of units after maintenance.
  • Manage budgets and contracts, ensuring accurate forecasting and monitoring of project progress and quality.
  • Provide support across multiple sites as needed.

Your Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • Familiarity with ABB AC160, AC450, and 800xa systems.
  • Possession of an HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, along with industrial experience.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, ideally with NEBOSH/IOSH certification.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PCS7 systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Broad understanding of power station operations, including maintenance activities across various mechanical systems.
