We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Primary Outreach Worker to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd.
About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity to work with a group of mainstream schools delivering outreach interventions to students with complex and challenging needs. As a Primary Outreach Worker, you will work closely with schools to provide guidance and strategies to support students in staying within a mainstream setting and avoiding permanent exclusion.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver a programme of interventions to support students with complex and challenging needs.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to students and staff in mainstream schools.
- Establish positive working relationships with students, modelling the schools' expectations of ready, respectful, safe.
- Help students to manage their behaviour in a relational, trauma-informed way, in line with the school's Relationships & Behaviour Policy.
- Visit schools, gather information for new referrals, and complete visit notes.
- Keep accurate records of work undertaken, including assessment and progress information shared with the school each week.
- Complete end-of-intervention reports for the mainstream school, providing advice and recommended strategies for implementation.
- Attend multi-professional meetings, as organised by the mainstream school, including EHC reviews, PEP meetings, or team around the child meetings.
- Provide termly reports on work undertaken, including numbers of schools and students supported and types of work undertaken.
To be successful in this role, you will need significant experience of working with children and young people with complex and challenging needs in a classroom environment. You will also need knowledge of interventions to support young people's SEMH needs. The ability to remain calm and patient under pressure is essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
