Job Summary:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and passionate Classroom Support Assistant to join one of our partner SEN schools in the Northampton area. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with children with complex needs and a strong commitment to supporting their educational and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative lessons to children with complex and severe learning needs.
  • Provide individualized support to children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, promoting their progress and development.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to assess and develop strategies for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes the well-being and engagement of all children.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting children with complex needs.

Requirements:

  • Patience and a calm demeanor when working with children with complex needs.
  • Prior experience working with children with special educational needs or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, teachers, and other staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Availability for full-time work within school hours.
