Senior Clinical Fellow in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12-month fixed-term senior fellowship at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This post will offer extensive experience in shoulder and elbow arthroplasty surgery, shoulder arthroscopy, open shoulder and elbow soft tissue surgery, general upper limb trauma and reconstruction.
Main Responsibilities- Work within the Northumbria Upper Limb Unit, consisting of 7 Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons, a dedicated number of extended scope practitioners, and 5 musculoskeletal radiologists.
- Introduce a programme to further improve care for shoulder and elbow arthroplasty patients, including designing and launching the improvement programme, and measuring and reporting progress.
- Collaborate with a team of experienced, fellowship-trained upper limb surgeons with an established reputation for quality improvement.
- Be GMC registered and hold the MBBS (or equivalent) medical qualification.
- Hold the FRCS (T&O) (or equivalent) qualification with one of the Surgical Colleges of Great Britain and Ireland.
- Have completed 4 years full-time (or equivalent on a part-time/flexible basis) training, at least 2 of which should be in the relevant specialty.
- Be on the specialist register in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
- Completion of all appropriate workplace assessments.
