Right Now Recruitment is working with a leading art handling, shipping, and storage company to find an experienced Customs Coordinator to join their team.

The company is a premier provider of advanced comprehensive transport, logistics, and storage solutions to their specialist clientele base across the UK and internationally for high-end items, including fine art, antiques, and collectibles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit import, export, and transit customs declarations for consignments moving by air, road, and sea freight using CDS/Descartes customs software.
  • Monitor all shipments/clearances through effective communication with all departments internally and clients externally.
  • Issue clearance instructions to third parties and ensure the customs entry has been correctly processed, making any necessary amendments.
  • Ensure all paperwork is accurate and up-to-date for Customs, Storage, and Transport departments.
  • Calculate applicable charges and prepare, raise, and send commercial invoices.
  • Collaborate with the Customs Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and new systems.
  • Escalate issues when necessary.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in customs clearance data work, preferably using Descartes/CDS systems.
  • IT literacy.
  • A thorough understanding of the 360 process of customs clearances processes/CPCs.
  • A strong understanding of export/import customs processes via ROAD (Air & Sea would also be beneficial).
  • Commercial awareness.
