We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Manager to join our Multimedia Content Team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development and support of our technology stack, working closely with upstream data providers, dependencies, and customers to set a forward-looking architectural vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of engineers and lead the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
  • Design and architect new and existing systems, ensuring reliability and scalability.
  • Partner with product or program management teams to collect requirements and describe software product features and technical designs.
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective.

About the Team

Our Multimedia Content Team processes images, video, and audio crawled from the web and acquired from licensed sources. We provide processed and quality-filtered multimedia content for display use on screened devices, for foundational and multimodal large language model training, and for knowledge grounding.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle.
  • Experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
  • Experience working directly within engineering teams.
  • Experience managing engineers.
  • Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems.
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership.
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing teams of Software Engineers.
