Position Overview
An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a dedicated nursing professional to become a vital member of the nursing staff within Ward 9 at NHS Lanarkshire. This role is a rotational position encompassing day, night, and weekend shifts. We seek an enthusiastic individual with a strong passion for Cardiology and general medicine to enhance our committed team.
Key Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse will play a crucial role within a multidisciplinary team, responsible for assessing patient care needs and developing comprehensive care plans. This includes the implementation and evaluation of care strategies to ensure the highest quality of service to patients. The successful candidate will be expected to perform all necessary nursing duties independently and may also be required to mentor and supervise both registered and unregistered staff, including nursing students.
In the absence of the senior charge nurse or team leader, the post holder will ensure the ward operates effectively, providing leadership and direction to the team.
Essential Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Registration
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently
- Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- Capability to engage with diverse individuals and work within a multidisciplinary framework
- Excellent time management abilities
- Basic proficiency in information technology
Desirable Skills
- Willingness to expand practice and receive training in I.V. drug therapy, cannulation, and phlebotomy
Contract Details
This is a permanent, part-time position requiring 34.5 hours per week. Please note that the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.
Work Environment
The role is based in Ward 9, where the working pattern includes a mix of days, nights, and weekends.
