About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Operative to join our team at Network Rail. As an Operative, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of our rail network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, inspect, and repair the land alongside the track network to ensure the railway remains safe and efficient.
  • Perform vegetation management, drainage, and ancillary structures tasks to prevent disruptions to rail services.
  • Work collaboratively with our maintenance teams to deliver safe and efficient work.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure clear instructions and safe working practices.
  • Remain calm under pressure and work effectively in all weather conditions.
Requirements
  • Technical knowledge of off-track inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques.
  • Familiarity with vegetation management and construction management processes.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment.
  • Valid driving license (category B) and ability to drive Network Rail vehicles.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
