About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Ranger to join our team at Sandscale Haws, a unique and biodiverse site in South East Cumbria. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for managing a team of staff and volunteers, developing and delivering work programs to meet conservation and access outcomes, and ensuring excellent standards of presentation and property maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of staff and volunteers to deliver conservation and access outcomes
  • Develop and deliver work programs to meet conservation and access outcomes
  • Ensure excellent standards of presentation and property maintenance
  • Work with the Lead Ranger to develop the management plan and new stewardship scheme
Requirements
  • Experience in land, access, and conservation management
  • Strong team player with experience of leading and line-managing teams
  • Strong wildlife identification skills and experience of applied practical experience in coastal habitats
  • Able to work safely and lead on compliance
