About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Actuary to join our team at NFU Mutual. As a Senior Actuarial Analyst, you will play a key role in leading the establishment and delivery of risk-led assurance reviews to ensure our critical business calculations are accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of actuarial models and techniques to support business decision-making
  • Provide assurance over actuarial work and wider risk topics to senior management and regulatory bodies
  • Engage with professional and industry bodies to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory developments
  • Manage and develop junior actuarial staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet their full potential
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, and to develop and implement risk management strategies
Requirements
  • Chartered Actuary (FIA or FFA) or equivalent qualification
  • Significant experience in the general insurance sector, with a strong understanding of actuarial techniques and regulatory requirements
  • Proven track record of leading and managing actuarial teams, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and improving processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and conduct complex actuarial reviews
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
