We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Actuary to join our team at NFU Mutual. As a Senior Actuary, you will play a key role in leading the delivery of actuarial workstreams and ensuring the accuracy of critical business calculations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the establishment and delivery of risk-led assurance reviews to ensure the accuracy of business calculations.
- Provide independent expert review and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support senior management decision-making and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Engage with professional and industry bodies to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory hot topics.
- Act as the technical conduit for third-party suppliers of advice and technical software solutions for actuarial modeling.
- Provide assurance over actuarial work and wider risk topics in line with company strategy.
- Lead, manage, motivate, and develop junior actuarial staff.
- Fully qualified Actuary with significant experience in the general insurance sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of actuarial techniques for general insurance pricing, reserving, or capital modeling.
- Analytical mindset and proactive attitude.
- Ability to design and conduct assurance reviews and write impactful reports.
- Proven ability to think strategically and translate strategy into operational delivery.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex information to non-technical audiences.
- Proven track record of leading, developing, and coaching junior team members.
- Salary up to £90,000 depending on experience.
- Annual bonus (up to 25% of salary).
