Job Description

Tencent Games' Venture Lab is seeking a highly skilled expert to join our team as a Technical Director/Expert.

Our mission at Venture Lab is to elevate the potential of Tencent's portfolio studios and create a lasting impact on their games.

In this role, you will work closely with studio developers, providing technical-related advisory and support.

This position emphasizes a collaborative, advisory role, may require travel, and ensures that our studio partners have the resources and guidance needed to succeed in the competitive gaming market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive quality in a collaborative and constructive way, partnering with essential team members to create an organizational structure and processes that allow the team to efficiently produce high-quality work on time and on budget.

  • Involvement in strategic product planning, franchise, and lifecycle management.
  • Ensure effective processes are in place for project tracking, including milestone reviews and feedback.
  • Prepare and regularly communicate project status information to management.
  • Work on Gaas and innovation promotions.

Drive quality in a collaborative and constructive way, partnering with essential team members to create an organizational structure and processes that allow the team to efficiently produce high-quality work on time and on budget.

Requirements
  • An inquisitive mind and understanding of the latest technology in game development.
  • Involvement in strategic product planning, franchise, and lifecycle management.
  • Ensure effective processes are in place for project tracking, including milestone reviews and feedback.
  • Prepare and regularly communicate project status information to management.
  • Experience managing a production team, ideally externally, with medium-large teams or development studios within the video game industry.
  • An understanding of a wide range of project management concepts, tools, and approaches, and an ability to tailor methods to meet the requirements of the team.
  • Experience delivering multiple high-quality entertainment experiences, understanding the motivations of your player base, and assessing innovation to deliver upon expectations.
