About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Mental Health In-Reach Team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist mental healthcare to offenders and working closely with other healthcare professionals to achieve high-quality health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a range of specialist interventions at primary and secondary care levels, including referral management, screening assessment, triage, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Manage a mixed and challenging caseload, ensuring that all waiting times, assessments, and interventions are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with community mental health teams to ensure integrated and collaborative working, continuity of care, and the Care Programme Approach for all service users.
  • Provide comprehensive and timely reports and mental health expertise to multi-agency public protection panels, police, probation services, solicitors, and court liaison teams as directed.
  • Deliver active clinical leadership and supervision within the team, covering for the manager and colleagues as required.
Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced Adult Mental Health Practitioner who has a strong background in working with offenders and has a passion for delivering high-quality mental healthcare. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Two years substantive post-registration experience gained working in a range of frontline adult mental health services, undertaking assessment and delivering interventions.
  • Relevant post-registration qualifications, such as Thorn, Non-Medical Prescribing, CBT, AMHP, Brief Interventions, etc.
  • Diploma level/Degree in a relevant health/social care profession, e.g., nursing, psychology, social work.
  • Current relevant registration with the NMC or HCPC.
