Senior Scheme Underwriting Specialist

This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to become part of our Commercial Schemes Team, particularly those with experience in Property, Liability, or Motor underwriting. Experience in Agriculture, Estates, and Care is beneficial but not mandatory for this role.

Due to expansion and operational adjustments within UK Commercial Schemes, we are looking to fill two Senior Scheme Underwriting Specialist roles within our team.

Overview of the Role:

As a Senior Scheme Underwriting Specialist, you will oversee the Profit & Loss, Revenue, and Broker Relationships for a selection of Schemes. You will need to showcase your expertise in Scheme Management to fulfill customer needs, drive profitable growth while upholding Underwriting integrity consistently, and ensure compliance with the Delegated Authority Governance Framework.

This role offers flexibility in location, with options to work from various sites, but will require travel to key locations multiple times a week.

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in Property, Liability, or Motor underwriting (knowledge in Agriculture, Estates, and Care is a plus but not essential)
  • Capability to analyze performance at both Scheme and Portfolio levels and collaborate effectively within a large, intricate organization
  • Strong technical skills and a desire to develop a comprehensive understanding of the UK Commercial Schemes Strategy
  • Aptitude for managing complex risks and technical referrals, mentoring less experienced Scheme Underwriters in finding optimal solutions and presenting effectively to Brokers
  • A passion for learning, characterized by curiosity, open-mindedness, and a commitment to continuous improvement
