We are currently seeking a Nuclear Safety and Fault Analysis Engineer to play a crucial role in the advancement of our nuclear power initiatives and to ensure the successful navigation of regulatory processes.
Role Objectives
The primary objective of this position is to support the development and upkeep of deterministic safety analysis programs to ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards. Responsibilities include:
- Facilitating the creation and maintenance of deterministic analysis frameworks as part of the nuclear safety case delivery strategy.
- Assisting in hazard identification initiatives by organizing and leading studies, documenting findings, and compiling hazards into a comprehensive Hazard Log.
- Providing guidance to engineering teams to incorporate deterministic safety considerations into their design processes.
- Ensuring adherence to quality and governance protocols for all deterministic analysis submissions.
- Collaborating with engineering disciplines to verify that designs align with deterministic analysis requirements and addressing any discrepancies.
- Engaging with other safety disciplines, including probabilistic safety assessment, to ensure a holistic approach to safety evaluations.
- Presenting findings from deterministic analyses to support regulatory compliance efforts.

Candidate Profile
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or significant relevant industry experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.
- Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance.
- Experience utilizing deterministic analysis to inform the design of nuclear facilities.
- Familiarity with Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) design and operations, including the preparation of deterministic analysis documentation such as hazard identification and fault schedules.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of £40,000 to £52,000, alongside a performance-related bonus of up to 12.5%. Our benefits package includes a robust pension scheme with contributions from both employer and employee, as well as a flexible benefits allowance to tailor your compensation package to your needs.
