Commissioning Manager - Substations

Murphy is seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Manager to join our award-winning Energy team. As a Commissioning Manager, you will oversee and manage the commissioning process in alignment with the TP141 regulations across various Substations projects, ensuring the safe and efficient integration of the substation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute the commissioning activities across the substation portfolio.
  • Review customer scope to define and develop project HV commissioning strategy and programme.
  • Review supplier proposal and programmes for substation plant installation and commissioning.
  • Represent Murphy at TP/SR106 and 163 meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with TP141 regulations and safety standards throughout the commissioning process.
  • Develop detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures, outlining the necessary steps for successful integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and operations to ensure a smooth handover.
  • Manage and supervise a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address potential challenges during commissioning.
  • Oversee testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of substation equipment.
  • Document all commissioning activities, results, and deviations, maintaining accurate records for future reference.
Requirements:
  • TP141 Authorised
  • National Grid Competent Person
  • Extensive experience in commissioning high-voltage substations up to and including 400kv.
  • Knowledge of TP141 regulations and safety protocols.
  • Track record of successful commissioning projects on time and within budget.
