About the Role

Adele Carr Recruitment is seeking an experienced Materials Buyer to join their busy manufacturing site in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role will be responsible for securing cost-effective raw materials and indirect supplies to meet current and future production needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supply Chain Management: Source and manage supply chain for raw materials, including supplier qualification, contract negotiation, and issue resolution.
  • Procurement of Indirect Supplies: Procure indirect supplies for the site, ensuring timely delivery and quality materials.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build strong supplier relationships, negotiating favourable terms and minimising cost increases.
  • Material Flow Planning: Plan and monitor material flow to production, adjusting as necessary to ensure efficient operations.
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure materials comply with safety and environmental standards, and collaborate with QA and SHE departments on material specifications and new product introductions.
  • Cost Savings and Value Analysis: Analyse market trends for strategic buying decisions and drive cost savings through value analysis and materials management.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in supply chain, purchasing, or contract management.
  • Expertise: Expertise in tender processes and bid management.
  • Skillset: Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Qualifications: CIPS qualification (Level 3) or equivalent experience.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary: Salary up to £40,000.
  • Office Hours: Office based Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week, with 1 day from home after probation period.
  • Benefits: 25 days holiday + BH, employer's 5% contribution pension, and free parking.
