Production Materials Coordinator

Objective of the Role:
To acquire and facilitate the timely delivery of materials essential for production needs while adhering to standard scheduling protocols.
Primary Responsibilities:
1.
Oversee the acquisition of materials through the
Sage system utilizing Bill of Material, MRP, and purchase order requisitions for bus components, returns, reorders, consumables, chassis parts, and client-supplied materials.
Effectively communicate purchase orders to suppliers.
3.
Schedule and expedite the delivery of materials to Wrightbus.
4.
Provide daily updates to the Product Buyer Coordinator regarding potential production constraints.
5.
Manage the engineering procurement process, purchase new components, analyze existing inventory at Wrightbus and suppliers, and authorize disposal when necessary.
Monitor inventory levels to reduce excess stock.
7.
Ensure accurate placement of purchase orders for ongoing production builds.
8.
Collaborate with material controllers to guarantee material availability in accordance with demand flow principles.
9.
Engage with suppliers regarding key performance indicators related to delivery notes, invoice discrepancies, kitting, and line shortages.
- Participate in vendor evaluations as needed.
Develop, maintain, and comply with Standard Operating Procedures.
12.
Coordinate with the Planning Department on timing issues related to Bill of Material releases.
13.
Report to Logistics and Production management teams about production constraints due to material shortages.
14.
Gather and compile shortage reports for line and kitting, and coordinate with Purchasing/Material Controllers regarding delivery timelines for shortages.
Track individual performance and establish targets for improvement while actively contributing to departmental objectives.
16.
Participate in stocktaking as required.
17.
Foster relationships with the Production Management team.
18.
Perform additional duties as assigned by Senior Management as necessary.
General
Conduct all responsibilities in accordance with General Data Protection regulations while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
Ensure that work meets the standards set by ISO, industry regulations, and Wrightbus policies.

Educational Background:
5 GCSE Grades A-C including Maths and English or equivalent
OR
Demonstrated extensive relevant experience in scheduling high volumes of materials to meet production demands.
Professional Experience:
Proficient in computer applications with experience in spreadsheets and databases.
Minimum 3 years of experience using MRP systems.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in scheduling to a production program.

BTEC in engineering or similar qualifications.
