Production Planning Specialist

Job Summary:
The Menu Partners is seeking a highly skilled Production Planning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining production plans that meet our business goals of meeting sales objectives and financial budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with sales department to determine customer requirements and sales forecasts
- Collate and process customer orders
- Develop and maintain a robust production schedule detailing all tasks and lead-times to meet predicted order completion date and ensuring products are made efficiently with minimum delays and shortages and on the budget
- Liaise with production management team to ensure manpower, equipment, raw materials and packaging are in place to cover production demand
- Administer and issue recipes to the production team with corresponding batch sizes ensuring correct recipes are used at all times
- Communicate a daily production schedule to production leads/managers to ensure adherence and efficiency
- Check, order and realign materials and packaging supply with schedules on a daily basis to prevent shortages
- Ensure that all material supply failures are identified, communicated and resolved expediently
- Liaise with suppliers and customers over changes to schedules and agree action plans to accommodate these to ensure service level is achieved at all times
- Verify completion of the production plan by communication and assessment of yields, sales report and production information
- Prepare weekly forecast vs actual sales reports identify discrepancies and propose solutions
- Regularly review raw material and packaging stocks and collaborate with stakeholders to develop solutions in order to minimise waste, improve cost and reduce inefficient use of materials storage space
- Ensure all customer orders are processed and delivered on time and in full and any shortages are reported
- In conjunction with procurement team, develop and maintain supplier performance tracker identifying areas for improvement and highlight any reoccurring supply issues
- Work on production related projects exploring continuous improvement, cost control and reduction where beneficial or as instructed by the line manager
- To carry out any relevant tasks as directed by the management team of The Menu Partners
- To work in a team-based environment where all managers/employees work together for the good of the business
- Via both formal and informal meetings, ensure that your line managers are kept updated on any opportunities or threats that could affect the business
- Maintain and contribute to a working knowledge of The Menu Partners policies and regulations

Key Attributes:
- Experience in production planning and raw material demand planning in FMCG
- Sound knowledge of production processes, ideally in cook/chill operation
- Highly motivated, results orientated and solution driven

- Sound mathematical skills
- IT literate, Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook
- Knowledge of Supply Chain and Distribution Management

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production planning and raw material demand planning in FMCG, with sound knowledge of production processes, ideally in cook/chill operation. They will be highly motivated, results orientated and solution driven, with good written and oral communication skills and excellent organisational skills. They will also have sound mathematical skills, be IT literate, and have knowledge of Supply Chain and Distribution Management.
