About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastoral Co-ordinator to join our team at Oldham Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the pastoral team to ensure it addresses the needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the pastoral team to ensure it addresses the needs of students.
  • Be responsible for attendance and truancy.
  • Lead and co-ordinate the process of pupil reintegration across the school.
  • Be responsible for all admissions to the school.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of the pastoral provision and student attendance.
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance engagement with students and their families, specifically around school attendance. They will also have a broad understanding and knowledge of the barriers faced by students preventing them from reaching their full potential.

We are looking for someone who is able to promote positive values, attitudes, good student behaviour and manage challenging behaviour, conflicts and incidents while encouraging students to take responsibility for their own behaviour and promoting self-control.
