Position Overview

The Whipps Cross Dietetic team is seeking a dedicated and passionate Band 5 Clinical Nutrition Specialist to become part of our forward-thinking department in this supervised rotational role.

Rotational Opportunities:

This role will provide a robust foundation for developing your career in various aspects of acute dietetics. You will collaborate within a supportive team alongside both senior and experienced dietitians and support staff within the healthcare facility, gaining insights from the broader team of dietitians across Barts Health. Regular supervision, close interdisciplinary collaboration, and peer learning will enhance your confidence and skills in the inpatient environment.

Clinical Areas of Focus: You will have the opportunity to gain knowledge in specialties such as parenteral nutrition, critical care, gastroenterology, surgery, medicine, oncology, geriatric medicine, stroke management, and diabetes care.

Applicants should demonstrate exceptional communication and organizational abilities in this dynamic role. The successful candidate may be required to travel to other locations within Barts Health for team development meetings and occasional work assignments.

Main Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the dietetic team to deliver an effective nutrition service to adult in-patients at Whipps Cross Hospital. Conduct regular research and audits to ensure that practices are evidence-based. This position may require working across various adult wards and attending meetings at different sites within Barts Health as needed.
