Head of Residential Services Director

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to lead our residential services team.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and provision of our residential service, ensuring high-quality care and management practices are in place. This includes managing a team of Registered Home Managers, developing policies, plans, and strategies in line with the Children's Homes Regulations, and promoting a robust safeguarding culture across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the delivery of high-quality care, principles of the organisation, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct performance appraisals, probationary reviews, and supervisions with Home Managers
- Provide support and guidance to Home Managers with Ofsted-related matters, including inspections and notifications
- Remain fully informed of current and new legislation/regulations and communicate this within the residential service
- Lead and promote a robust safeguarding culture across the organisation
- Be actively involved in the referrals process for young people at SWAAY
- Have oversight of training and development within the residential service
The ideal candidate will have:
- Level 5 Leadership & Management in Residential Care and recognised childcare qualification
- Previous experience in a managerial role within a children's residential setting
- Strong knowledge of the Children's Home Regulations (2015) and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023)
- Proven record of delivering high-quality care and management
- High-level problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge and experience of trauma-informed care and therapeutic models
