Key Responsibilities:

  • **Analyzing Customer Briefs:**
    • Identify development opportunities and SKU gaps
  • **Product Development:**
    • Develop new and innovative blended cheese recipes and formats
    • Produce samples in the development kitchen
    • Organize taste panels and redevelop where required
    • Submit products to customers
  • **Supply Chain Management:**
    • Work with suppliers to develop new secondary packaging concepts
    • Order samples and gather commercial and technical information
  • **Ingredient Management:**
    • Liaise with new and existing ingredient suppliers
    • Keep up to date with new ingredient offerings
  • **Customer Management:**
    • Lead customer product submission meetings
    • Deputise for the NPD Manager where required
  • **Competitor Benchmarking:**
    • Organize blind taste panels to compare our products with the wider market
  • **Food Trends:**
    • Maintain an awareness of food and drink trends through research and attending food shows
    • Generate reports to aid future development opportunities

Requirements:

  • Highly creative and self-motivated individual with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong team working skills with an appetite to work cross-functionally
  • Highly organized individual who can listen, retain information, and keep up-to-date with multiple development requirements
  • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers and suppliers
  • STEM-related degree or similar level of education is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to demonstrate extensive experience within the product development discipline in food manufacturing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
