Security Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team at HMP Five Wells in Wellingborough. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our prison and its residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure the effective security of the prison by controlling access points and monitoring CCTV systems.
  2. Provide escort duties for visitors, contractors, and prisoner escort vehicles.
  3. Conduct searches of incoming prisoner property and accurately record prisoner property.
  4. Monitor and respond to alarms, and maintain establishment roll counts.
  5. Supervise and task prisoners employed within the property stores.
  6. Handle incoming and outgoing prisoner and official mail.
  7. Carry out routine and intelligence-led monitoring of PIN Phone telephone calls.
Requirements:
  1. Strong organisational and communication skills.
  2. Ability to work seamlessly with other team members.
  3. Flexibility and adaptability to deal with ever-changing scenarios within the prison.
  4. IT literacy and competence in using database and spreadsheet applications.
  5. Polite and mindful of the needs of all who may be interacted with.
