Position: CNC Miller Programmer/Setter/Operator

Location: Birmingham

Working Hours: MON – THURS 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, FRI 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Compensation: £18 - £20 per hour (based on experience)

We are seeking a skilled CNC Miller Programmer to join our esteemed client in Birmingham. Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines, ensuring adherence to lead times and delivery schedules.
  • Conduct quality checks and measurements using appropriate equipment as required.
  • Complete and file all necessary paperwork and labels accurately.
  • Update the manufacturing shop floor data collection system as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Ensure all work complies with the company's quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean working area and undertake additional duties as required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of CNC milling.
  • Utilize conventional machines such as Centre Lathe, Turret Mill, and Surface Grinder.
  • Employ CAD skills in the production process.
  • Possess experience with quality systems.

Who is the Ideal Candidate?

  • Experienced in both online and offline programming using VISI software.
  • Proficient in setting and operating 3 & 5 axis machining centers, with a strong working knowledge of Mazatrol Siemens and/or Heidenhain controls.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in producing one-off components from engineering drawings, with the ability to work to tight tolerances and inspect parts using the correct measuring tools.
  • Capable of using initiative to create fixtures or jigs to aid in production, with a solid understanding of tooling, feeds, and speeds.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects from inception to completion while meeting deadlines.
