Job Role
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will work with SEN Secondary students who have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism, and other associated learning difficulties. Some students also have additional needs such as Dyslexia and ADHD. Your role will be to develop tailored therapy programs, using creative and imaginative methods to communicate and build rapport with the children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and treatments for speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Design and implement individualized therapy plans to address the unique needs of each child.
- Monitor and evaluate children's progress, adjusting treatments as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide training and support to enhance communication abilities and promote independence.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in speech and language therapy to provide the best possible care.
Requirements:
- Qualifications in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
- Experience with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and working with children having communication difficulties.
- Experience with a range of speech and language therapy tools and technologies is a plus.
